Giffgaff's Phone Recycle Story
The main challenge of this brief was coming up with a creative way of telling the giffgaff recycle story whilst acknowledging the environmental benefits of recycling your phone. My solution was to create a narrative surrounding E-waste and use characters as tangible assets for viewers to engage with, most obviously shown in the TV ad and supported by social media assets. My outcomes are fun and cohesive, utilising a comic book aesthetic and using the various media formats to help interact with the narrative of the fight against E-Waste. My outcomes generate interest around the subject and are in line with giffgaff’s playful branding. The TV ad introduces the narrative whilst also outlining the recycle steps, the social media assets provide a way to engage with and acknowledge the issue.
Giffgaff TV Ad Preview
As part of the brief, I was required to create a 20-second animated TV ad.
The main challenge was establishing a narrative whilst still outlining the 4 giffgaff recycle steps within the time limit; my solution was to concentrate on creating a script to animate which successfully achieved this.

Animated Instagram Stories
Animated Instagram stories made in support of the TV ad. They provide a different way to engage with and acknowledge the issue whilst pushing the campaign.

Tim Nejad
I'm a multidisciplinary designer with a particular interest in illustration and animation.
With my interests in telling a narrative through illustration, I wanted to expand on my skills by exploring the use of animation to further bring imagery to life. I chose projects that would enable me to explore different methods of story-telling and animation as a format to display the range of my ability to illustrate.

Work Experience
From September 2019 to September 2020, I worked in Debenham’s head office as a Digital Designer. The role provided me with the opportunity to work on various design jobs for the company, most notably, home-page design, animations for the company’s social media and the chance to design the online Debenham’s advent calendar. As a result of the pandemic, the design team shrunk significantly, allowing me to work alongside the creative director of 30 years, getting direct feedback on my work and gaining invaluable insight into the creative processes of the company.
