VIDEN Coach's System
VIDEN is a system that enables coaches to correctly identify concussions and further allows players to receive the correct treatment as a direct consequence of the in-depth analysis performed by the system.
VIDEN - Player Over Mould
The system is contained in a gumshield over mould, with accelerometers and gyroscopes moulded within, to provide the most accurate player data. Allowing for detailed analysis displayed on the cuff.
VIDEN Pressure Cuff
VIDEN pressure cuff is worn by coaches and notifies them when a player has reached their sub-concussive limit. Through the use of haptic feedback, the cuff tightens around the coaches arm indicating the need for player treatment.
Personalised App
The personalised app provides concise data collected from the gumshield over the mould. The app has an algorithm that develops personalised recovery plans for players, overseen by the coaches.
3D Printed Prototyping
To ensure the pressure cuff designed was ergonomic, prototypes were produced and self-tested. The insights achieved through self-testing helped dictate the product form.
Capsule - Blood Thinner Injector
The capsule is a product that helps the user self-inject blood thinners post-surgery. It ensures the blood thinner is injected at the correct speed through the use of motors.
Disposable Capsules
The disposable internal capsule contains springs and plungers that deliver the blood thinner whilst hiding the needle, reducing the anxiety of self-injection. Once the self-injection is complete, the individual capsule is disposed of via a hazardous waste bucket, reducing plastic use.
PUMA MV F1 2020 Spa Cap
Whilst on placement, I was very fortunate to be part of a team assigned to design a special release cap for Red Bull driver Max Verstappen. The product focused on colour, finish and material whilst incorporating trends.
Sean Van Der Molen
My design approach is underpinned by a firm belief that every good product considers the user to the highest degree, focusing on how every detail impacts product interaction and tells their story.
I am a versatile and driven designer, driven by a design language of believing that form follows function. I focus on balancing conceptual design with realism, and function with aesthetic trends. I am a strong researcher, driven by the want to emphasize with users and develop designs that truly speak to their needs and tell their stories. Having been involved in diverse projects at both in house design for PUMA and external consultancy ENTWURFREICH, I have applied and further developed my design principles and technical skills. I hope to continue developing myself as a designer throughout my career whilst also designing products that have a positive impact on people’s lives and that change people’s perceptions of what design can make possible.

Work Experience
PUMA Core Accessories Design Intern (6 months)
Whilst at PUMA, I was responsible for supporting senior designers, as well as independently developing products across the core, special release and future development lines. This involved the research of trends, costs and competitor products, broadening my knowledge of the sports design industry. This breadth further enabled me to build my understanding of commercial design, through the interpretation of current trends and identification of future trends into design across all cost segments. This enabled me to build my confidence in the commercial process and professionalism when presenting my work.
ENTWURFREICH, Industrial Design Intern (3 months)
In the 3 months that I interned at Entwurfreich, a design consultancy, I supported the Creative Director through producing trend reports and contributed to a diverse range of projects at any stage of the process. This included concept generation, modelling of final aesthetic prototypes and colour finish materials. This enabled me to apply myself as a versatile and adaptable designer, while further developing my project management skills.
