Create an animated video following characters through a number of scenes

For my final project, I wanted to explore a number of different processes and techniques, with the end goal of a short animation. Splitting my work into three sections; character design, background painting, and animation gave me the opportunity to tackle a range of different challenges. The work shown here includes the main background scenes that the characters will be placed into. Each painting involved a different set of skills, from working with textures to perspective and experimenting with having the background itself move.
