Ink Wash Painting
This image is part of my experimentation process when I tried out experimenting with diluted ink. I believe it conveys a good atmospheric quality to it.
Digital Illustration of a Rose
This image was also created during my experimentation process. In this section of my project, I was experimenting with backgrounds. This was a successful piece as I feel the rose is very prominent due to the blurred background and vibrancy of its red tones.
Lino Printing
I believe these Lino prints are successful in achieving a strong print but also illustrates the delicacy of the flowers at the same time.
Emboss
I also practised the method of embossing. I liked how it created a 3D effect on the paper and I hope to use this method in my final packaging.
Katie Sturgess
My design approach was to create a sophisticated fragrance packaging that had a unique appearance and was therefore eye-catching.
Over the course of my final major project, I have experimented with a broad range of mediums, such as ink, and methods like Lino Printing, Embossing, Silk Painting and digital illustration. I wanted to create a wide range of work so I had multiple pathways I could choose from in how to design the packaging.
Through the use of embossing, digital illustration, typography and my use of colour, I believe I can achieve an elegant design. In the future, I hope to have a career based in the world of product design.
