Within my work I use video and photography to explore the performance of gender through clothing.
From focusing my dissertation on how contemporary photography challenges the stereotypes of the feminine body, I decided to carry the topic of gender into my studio practice. I made the difficult decision to focus my work on Self Portraiture which is to be the focus of my videos and photographs. Initially, it felt uncomfortably honest and revealing but as I gained confidence the performances turned into an enjoyable activity. I gained skills in performing in public as well as learning new techniques in Adobe Rush and Photoshop.
