Sicura Device
The Sicura device carries out the allergen protein food test. The product operates with the use of test capsules and is rechargeable via USB C.
Functional Prototype
The functional prototype trialled the food sample extraction process and the stages involved to perform a food test.
Step 1 – Set Up
A new capsule is screwed into the device. Each capsule tests for a particular allergen, in this example it is testing for dairy.
Step 2 – Testing
The device sucks a sample into the capsule. It uses Molecularly Imprinted Polymer technology (under license) to test food samples. This test takes up to 30 seconds.
Step 3 – Result
LED lights indicate the test result. The capsule must be unscrewed and disposed of after use.
Form Development
A display of concept sketches focused on the ease of use to develop a form with optimal comfort and efficiency.
Compact Home Gym
Providing optimum use of space with a wide range of equipment and uses, stored in a compact unit.
Use
The bench is fully compactable and pivots 180 degrees on an axis that is connected to the storage unit.
Eleanor Bell
Sicura is a device that enables those with food allergies to complete a rapid test and check that their meal is safe to eat. The device extracts a sample and contains this within a disposable capsule to ensure that there is no cross-contamination between tests.
