Smart Mediatation Training Device
Taking the form of a bowl reminiscent of Buddhist Censers, the device brings modern technology to enhance the experience of the ancient tradition of mediation.
Held in the hands during a meditation session, the weight and sense of touch provide a physical focal point for the user. The device guides the user in their meditation with the use of haptics to either provide their heart rate and their posture to induce a biofeedback effect or to simply guide the user's breathing.
The built-in Essential Oil diffuser can act as incense, encouraging the user to breathe through their sense of smell.
Smart Mediatation Training Device
Built using a combination of slipcasting ceramics and injection-moulded plastic allows the product to provide the sense of weight and touch of traditional pottery.

When not in use, the product is placed back onto a base that allows wireless charging and using it as a diffuser.
Connecting to a smartphone through an app allows the user to review their meditation sessions. The app also allows reminders and social connections to help user to form a habit of meditation.
Smart Mediatation Training Device - Product Interface
Capacitive sensors are built into the rim of the device, allowing the user to control their mediation session by running their fingers around as if interacting with a singing bowl. Using differences in texture and materials along with haptic feedback allows the user to operate the device by touch.
Smart Mediatation Training Device - End of Life
Aiming to be environmentally conscious, the device can be easily disassembled to facilitate repairs to extend its lifespan.
With the plastics and the electronics removed, the ceramic body of the product can take on a new life as pottery.
