Daniel Young

Contemporary Welsh Sculptor investigating themes of Chaos, Satire, Tragedy and Humour through Traditional and Electronic Media.

I'm a multi-media fine artist, specialising within sculpture and installation work. With the experience and knowledge of working with a wide range of materials including: ceramic, plaster, wood, metal, plastic, concrete, paper, cardboard and electronics. My strengths are my intelligence, adaptability, knowledge on contemporary art, my attention to detail and my ambition. I consistently push myself beyond my existing abilities in order to strive and develop my practice further. My Graduation show 'The Comic' (2021) gives an insight into my individual practice and an idea of what I am able to achieve within a 8-week timeframe. It follows an autobiographic narrative on a fictional character of 'the comic' through the exploration of Humour, Tragedy and the Subconscious. In conveying an act of storytelling and in creating an atmosphere filled with humour, ridiculousness, satire and also sadness. Upon graduation, my aspirations and career aims are to move to a creative city with more opportunities, continue developing my practice independently/ within a collective and to begin showcasing work in exhibitions across the country.
