The Beacon Civic Centre
Despite the rich cultural history of the Indian agricultural community, they have no representative architecture within the capital city of Delhi. The Beacon will be a permanent symbol paying homage to the efforts of the rural farmers in feeding the nation.
The Beacon
Through a physical exhibition of the plants grown through innovative techniques, the beacons represent the growth of the farming community. Dispersed within the city and the centre site, they will become recognisable structures within the urban environment.
Perspective section
Behind the frontal vertical beacons are the internal spaces in which visitors can utilise the services provided by the farming association. These include private consultation for financial and well-being support as well as educational classes to learn about the future of farming in India.
The Beacon visual
Sliding mechanic doors open the facade of the centre onto the bustling streets of Daryaganj, Delhi.
Welcome to London
As part of the first semester, our brief was to create a film based on an ephemeral journey within architecture. The chosen location of Stratford, East London led to an exploration of the demolition and regeneration of the existing area in order to accommodate for the infamous 2012 Olympic Games.
Amy Grant
My explorative approach to design encapsulates extensive research methods with my personal graphic style.
Throughout my four years studying Architecture at Loughborough, I have gained valuable design skills to apply within the professional field. My work has focussed on integrating nature into the urban landscape, with a key strength being my understanding of the context which my projects are set.

Work Experience
As an Architectural Assistant within the Facilities Management office of Loughborough University, I was able to exercise the skills I have gained through academic studies within a professional environment. Working on both initial design iterations for new projects and renovations of existing facilities, the experiences gained from designing on campus provided a unique placement during studying for my BArch.
