An exploding box to scare away thieves.
For my final year design project, I decided to tackle the issue of theft at festivals. I designed a lockbox that explodes and inflates when it is removed from a set area.
Inconspicous Lockbox
This lockbox would sit inconspicuously within a tent whilst the user is away, holding their valuables safely using a solenoid locking mechanism and a strong metal frame.
Exploding Lockbox
The design uses a BLE triggered piercing mechanism so it is able to sense when the box is removed from a certain area, this triggers a solenoid that pierces a gas canister, inflating the spikes.
Fingerprint Unlocking
When the user requires their valuables a fingerprint triggered solenoid unlocking system opens the box and allows the user to place or remove their valuables from the secure container.

I am a technical design student with particular interests in the technological side and sustainable issues.
Whilst studying at Loughborough I have taken a particular interest in my electronic and mechanical studies, learning how products work and how to solve problems using technological solutions. I have also really enjoyed my studies based on sustainability and am very passionate about helping others and our environment.

Work Experience
I completed a year-long placement at SUCK UK, a novelty gift company based in London. Here I learnt what it is like to work as part of a design team, working off each other's ideas to create creative and smart designs whilst meeting the deadlines set.
