Aimee Williamson
Textile artist, Aimee Williamson specialises in multimedia often finding her inspiration in nature, flora and fauna.
The designer's final major project, ‘Intercepted light’ explored the interactions between natural light, shadow and nature for the luxury womenswear market. It focused on experimenting with different weighted fabrics as well as negative space and texture with the aim to replicate the nostalgia and tranquillity that Aimee experienced in nature. Throughout her life Aimee has often associated the thoughts and feelings of nostalgic memories with natural light and shadow. Many of her best recollections are connected to light, shade and shadow. These beautiful and transient moments all come with a sense of serenity and calm which underpin the designers project concept and development. The final collection is an assortment of well-made fabric samples and one finished garment.
