Using computer-generated pictures of people that don't exist, I digitally edited the portraits, decreasing the exposure and blurring the distinguishable features to detach them from reality. I then used these as reference pictures to paint from, creating somewhat nightmarish portraits.

Existence 1
Photography with text consisting of the average number of years, days, hours, minutes and seconds a person lives in the UK. I hoped to highlight the transient nature of life by doing this and to encourage philosophical and existential contemplation.

Exploring existentialism through photography, text and distorted portraiture.
My practice has given me an opportunity to delve into existential thoughts and ponderings, to make some sense of the world (and beyond) surrounding me. I have done so, through the process of painting computer-generated faces of non-existent people. Using oil paint, the portraits are blurred in order to further detach them from reality.
