Jack Drummond
My work seeks to examine and reflect on how I physically see my environment, and how it interacts with my sense of self and personal interactions.
My practice combines traditional realism portraiture with multimedia practice to explore my eyesight and how it affects my physical and mental states. Combining the familiar with analogous visual noise, I illustrate how my eyesight interacts with my everyday perception to instil unease and mislead the eye of the viewer. This physical narrative blurs the barrier between my own perception of self and others’ perception of me, with the intention of bridging the gap between the product and the process.
I wish to further build on methods of display and refining my process and studio work after my degree.

Work Experience
2017 – 2018 AA2A - Student Representative
In this role, I worked as a student liaison with the AA2A initiative, which works to provide practising artists with access to art colleges. This involved directly working with artists and the SDCA administrative team as an assistant, helping to arrange meetings, lectures and activities across the year. This required and taught me a range of communication and interpersonal skills, as well as physical creative skills and knowledge. This role continued into 2019 outside of the university, where I kept in contact with the previous cadre of artists and opened lines of communication between artist networks.
