Creative Process.
A selection of paper-based sketch work from the initial ideation process.
Gender Neutrality.
Redesigning the petrol pump. The automotive and mechanical industry is a male-dominated field and as such, the output has been designed with men in mind. Women and the elderly are heavily impacted by the current design, the handles are tough to compress for the duration required and the experience can be complicated and stressful.
Redesign.
The fuel pump operates as any normal system would, with the exception of the need to compress the handle for the length of time it takes to fill the fuel tank. This proposal combats issues with grip strength, usability and user experience by offering a suitable solution for everyone.
