Meet Furō
Furō is a wearable air purification device to reduce health risk from exposure to ambient air pollution. The device protects the user from exposure to air pollution, allergens and pathogens.
Design language
Designed with the feel of fluidity and softness to the form of Furō to evoke airflow.
Replaceable filter
Furō's biodegradable merino wool filter lasts up to a month before the need for replacing. When replacing the filter, the user simply removes the magnetic cover and pull the filter out. No tools needed.
Product in context
There is a growing need for products such as Furō, with an estimate of 4.2 million premature deaths globally linked to ambient air pollution, and according to the NHS, 1 in 4 people in the UK are affected by Hay Fever.
Technology
Furō features a low air resistant merino wool filter with a 98.8% total system efficiency combined with laminar flow technology, provides the user with purified air and shields the user from allergens such as pollen.
Development
Explored different functional and aesthetic approaches during the development of Furō, backed by primary and secondary market research.
